Awesome. She's the last 25th anniversary/updated figure from the 1983 wave that they haven't made. That was my favorite year for characters. I don't know if I'll be joining the club, but this has me intrigued. _________________ Author of Mr. Smartass, available for Amazon's Kindle, iPad/iPhone, and other e-reader devices and apps. |

Except she's blonde, so they still haven't completed 1983. Sorry, she's not the cover girl I was looking for. It makes passing on the sub just that much easier. The only way I'd be able to join is if a US friend hooked me up to save on the clubs goofy shipping to Canada, and then if I could sell off the ones I don't want to make back at least their value. Too much risk and hassle for too little reward. Cover Girl was the figure that would have maybe pushed me into it, but as I said, she isn't what I was looking for.
I think the figures all look nice overall, just not enough appeal for me. |

Her hair looks kind of strawberry blonde to me. Actually, it looks the exact same shade as her original file card image from the Wolverine.
I know it's different than the original toy, but I don't mind her hair being lighter. Her hair in the "M.A.S.S. Device" cartoon was regular blonde.
From a purely cosmetic standpoint, I like her with lighter hair to distinguish her from Scarlett.
EDIT: If I feel the compulsion to get this new Cover Girl, I think I'll take my chances looking for this figure on Amazon or eBay after she's released. _________________ Author of Mr. Smartass, available for Amazon's Kindle, iPad/iPhone, and other e-reader devices and apps. |

Probably the best way to go if you're only looking for one or two figures.
Otherwise you have to first purchase a club membership $42 and then pay the still unknown subscription fee.
Or find someone who is a member that can order a single if they are ever available from overstock.
If you do get a membership though, you'll receive the Footloose figure this year, which is pretty cool. |

I Got a membership... When are these figures suppose to come out? Is it just some indeterminate time in the future? I want Quinn, Jinx, and the grunt with glider pack. There are others too and I did get Dr Venom with adventure team leader (Joe Colton) I wish I had jumped on the last special of Doc for $7, by the time I got to it they were gone... _________________ Author: Karate is Self-Defense Available at Amazon.com. Personally, I prefer that Cover Girl looks more like her original action figure than the cartoon version, reddish blonde works for me.
Depending on price (I too am in Canada so it can get crazy) I'm seriously considering signing up.
The 12th figure gets announced tomorrow and word on the street is it's gonna be BIG BOA _________________ WELCOME TO COBRA ISLAND - Download the album here: http://propsdept.bandcamp.com/

Don't know exactly, but I'm guessing mid 2012 is when they'll begin shipping. FOOTLOOSE is supposed to start shipping in June 2012 so I expect the subs will start shortly after.
Also, don't know if KWINN is going to be a club exclusive or not. The mysterious 13th figure won't be known for awhile, but KWINN has been a guess. The KWINN on display at the NYCC was at the Hasbro booth so he may actually get a broad release, which would be cool (and cheaper than the club). _________________ WELCOME TO COBRA ISLAND - Download the album here: http://propsdept.bandcamp.com/

Here's a pic of all 12 subscription figures (the 13th is a mystery)

I gotta say, as preposterous as he looked, Big Boa was always a guilty pleasure character for me. _________________ Author of Mr. Smartass, available for Amazon's Kindle, iPad/iPhone, and other e-reader devices and apps. |

Looking at those figures and the GIJCC description, I have one question: Who is Theodore N. Thomas?
Okay, two questions: Why is he listed as South American Bomb Disposal Expert?
Okay, three questions: What kind of name is Theodore N. Thomas for a South American?
Okay, four questions: South America's a big place with, like, thirteen countries--is he from all of them?
Okay, five questions: Who picked this guy? _________________ Author of Mr. Smartass, available for Amazon's Kindle, iPad/iPhone, and other e-reader devices and apps. |

He's a foreign released character from what I know and codenamed TNT. First letter from his first, middle, and last name. That's all I know. _________________ The cake is a lie. |

That answers one of my questions and another I didn't realize I had (what's his code-name?). Thanks... sorta.
EDIT: So wait, the character was released in South America but he's not from South America? _________________ Author of Mr. Smartass, available for Amazon's Kindle, iPad/iPhone, and other e-reader devices and apps. |
