Well I've revised my opinion, I'm intrigued enough give them a couple more issues before giving my opinion on the idea of the series.
This was something of a favourite story as well, it could be really interesting to see how the more emotional Spock will react to loosing people under his command - it might give him more of a connection to Kirk who also lost people under his command recently. Logically we won't lose McCoy or Scotty, but it could be interesting still to see how it plays out. _________________ Ohh 'Eck!

I'm pretty sure this whole series is just re-imagined stories. That's its thing. _________________ Author of Mr. Smartass, available for Amazon's Kindle, iPad/iPhone, and other e-reader devices and apps. |

well then that's one customer you've lost IDW. The odd "reimagined" story along side new ones? Fantastic!! all reimagined ... "no thanks". _________________ Ohh 'Eck! |

Indeed. I thought that the whole point of the reboot was to allow "anything to happen."
"Anything" can hardly happen if it's constrained to be loose adaptations of old TV episodes. |

Dude...you guys are ready to pull the plug on a series that hasn't even started yet?

Hey, I'm pumped up for the series! I never enjoyed Star Trek until the 2009 film; I've since watched a handful of the original series episodes, and while I understand their place in pop culture history, I had a tough time getting into them. When I said:

I wasn't criticizing. I'm happy if they're retooled, updated versions of those old episodes. _________________ Author of Mr. Smartass, available for Amazon's Kindle, iPad/iPhone, and other e-reader devices and apps. |

Would you be happy if IDW said "the new GI Joe universe will be revisions of previous GI Joe stories ... starting with Lady Doomsday!" and then ONLY do reimagined stories? _________________ Ohh 'Eck! |

| Maybe they'll find some clever way to retcon everything so as to be part of some vast, overreaching storyarc. |

hmm, there is that.
Maybe I'll give Where No Man a go on digital. $4 out of curiosity is cheap. _________________ Ohh 'Eck! |

I love when they do stuff like that. I'm a huge fan of Marvel's THE ULTIMATES, which is basically a re-telling/updating of the Avengers. _________________

I think a new Star trek TV Series with the cast n crew of the 2009 Movie,
Would be cool.... except, have them be all new material, and have the crew refer to things that happned in the 60's show.
Then after each season of Star Trek Release a New Movie!!!
Id be in to that!
Certain things would still have to happen even in their slightly altered timeline...
Khan...The Search for Spock....The Genisis Device....or do some of these events not occur since the original Spock may warn Starfleet of certain events, do to the fact that things have been altered...

I think Spock Prime would probably just keep mum about a lot of things (except maybe "big" stuff like the Borg (as they've already been encountered even in this timeline) and the Dominion, but the Dominion's had that level of technology for a long time and stomped a Starfleet that's a hundred years more advanced then "now"). _________________ Ohh 'Eck! |

I loved the original series. I am liking the first issue of this reimagineing. I think it is cool to see new adaptations of old stories, but that is all that IDW is really doing right now... bringing back old popular stuff and putting a new spin on it.... I don't know how long it will last especially at $3.99 _________________ Author: Karate is Self-Defense Available at Amazon.com. Kindle Version Coming Soon. |

The price goes down after a month - so basically the normal amount of time between a floppy being released and IDW usually releasing the digital version, now they're going "day-and-date" they've had to buff the price. _________________ Ohh 'Eck! |

I suspect as the sequel draws nearer the series will start to tie into the upcoming movie events and result in original stories. Since Roberto Orci is overseeing this title, I'm sure that's what will happen. _________________
