I would like to see stories based on aliens introduced in The Animated Series like Edosians (Lt. Arex), Caitians (Lt. M'Ress,) Pandronians ("Bem",) The Skorr ("The Jihad",) Nasat ("The Jihad") and the Philosians ("The Infinite Vulcan".)

I read on an "unnamed creator"'s website that IDW has got a "backlog" of Trek material to publish at the moment, so I don't think we'll be seeing more Alien issues for some time.

They have been fun, and I think they're a great way to give newer writers/artists/colorists a shot at Trek.

Perhaps something in the vein of the ancient 80 page giants? I'd be willing to "suffer" with old school paper quality if it keeps the price down and output of material high?

I'd love to see the end of IDW's cardstock covers if it meant at least a 50 cents drop in price.

Totally agree! It would be fantastic to see some of these more obscure races expanded upon.

Meh, no thanks for either of those, the first thing I noticed when IDW picked up Star Trek was the signfiicant upping in quality of the actual books compared to any previous Trek comics. To back peddle on that would just be a nail in the coffin...

Last issue of Volume II forever, if we get more they'll be in volume III Wink

Well, if last week's G.I. Joe is any indication, the cardstock covers are (almost prophetically) indeed gone. However, the $3.99 price remains.

sda to hear about Vol. II, since I really liked the Spotlight-series and there would've been tons of species more for it.... therefore I again and strongly suggest a 'Vs.'-Series, like Jem'Hadar vs. Hirgin or Klingon vs. Gorn and so on Twisted Evil

My initial reaction to that was eww, don't do a silly fighty gladiator thing. But on further thought it's actually quite interesting in terms of potenial political exploration; to see how various familiar races deal with each other, without it being all about their relations with the Federation.

You could set that "versus" series aboard "someplace" where the species have been abducted to, and left to scrounge and fight. Build a story arc around it that ties into something else that IDW is doing.

That sort of thing has been done rather a lot! TAS episode: The Time Trap, Voyager episode: Tsunkatse, Voyager video game: Elite Force, TOS comic: Museum at the End of Time, and Voyager comic: Leviathan. and that's just the ones I can remember off the top of my head!

Although rumor has it that J.J. Abrams has dibs on them for the next STAR TREK, howsabout the Gorn from the classic Trek episode, Arena. Certainy a fan favorite that many would like to see explored.

I recently finished the New Frontier anthology No Limits and it says that Arex is actually Triexian. Surprised

Personally, I would like to see the spotlight cast on each of the following species:

- The Tholians (yes, almost nothing is canonically known about them, but that was true of the Gorn too, and they managed to squeeze out a good issue about them

- The Breen so mysterious, and definitely interesting enough to merit closer examination

- The Ferengi I know that this is a bit of a base breaker in certain circles (though really, what isn't?), but I liked most of the Quark centred episodes on DS9, and am curious to see how their society will react to Grand Nagus Rom's reforms

-Species 8472/The Undine: easily one of the most awesome new races on Voyager, rivaled only by...

-The Hirogen: maybe some story about how a band of nomadic hunters came to control an ancient, galaxy-spanning network of black hole-powered communications relays? Just a suggestion.

-The Jem'Hadar: I have to admit, I was a wee bit disappointed that IDWs brief forays into DS9 didn't really touch on the Dominion war. Ah well; always a chance to fix that.

-The Tamarians: How about maybe illustrating some of their legends for us? Who were Darmok and Jalaad? What did they do at Tenagra? Et cetera.

and just for fun...
-The Pakleds: They look for things. Things to make them go.
