Thank you again, Brian!

I bet it will be a good moment! I can’t wait for the last issues… but on the other hand I will miss these series. I love to see Spike back with Buffy and the Scoobies, but I’ll still miss the IDW series… _________________

I can't wait!
Back in 2004 my impression was Andrew blurted out soon-ish after his visit to LA in "Damage". Buffy was very angry and Andrew offered her to spread rumors that Buffy dates The Immortal - who is both Spike and Angel's enemy. After a couple of Spangel nightmares Buffy agreed. _________________

Hee, hee, that's why Buffy still having those Spangel nightmares - both of her men went to LA, no one of them wants to contact with her. If I were Buffy I should kick the arses of both of them. Actually she did. _________________

I am very excited about the visit of Willow and what that means for answers that help connect your Spike series with Buffy Season 8. Especially with the time element regarding when Spike's resurrection post "Chosen." It seems to me a very big stretch to suppose that his return was unknown - especially after "Damaged" - at least three different sources for info on his return are given - Andrew, Dana via Slayer memories and the Slayer that made up Andrew's team.
I am also extremely interested in this new concept of "soul balance" that you have introduced - will that become part of the fundamental elements of the Buffyverse, if so, how does that effect the history of the series and the history and stories of Angel/Angelus and Spike. Was the "soul balance" something that will become official canon for the story of vampires and their souls? I sure hope that this will be answered in your story.
Love "Team Mopey" - Love the "Kitties"
Do the Hells Angels Insignia have a connection to the coming rescue attempts - particularly the Los Banos visual?
The concept of a John and the need of his "Soul" as the foundation to feel his evil contrasted to the concept of "Soul" needed by Angel to feel his goodness, also very interesting. If the "soul" is needed by John and Angel equally to access their intellectual and emotional connection for Good or Evil - it seems to me that the fundamental definition by Buffy and all that history of her inner circle are rendered meaningless. Another element which I really hope will be explored and answered in the coming issues. |

Which fundamental definition do you mean? Personally I don't think there is any contradiction with how the soul has been treated in the Buffyverse; see the reasoning by myself and others on page 2 of this thread. Also, I think the soul is essential for the emotional, but not the intellectual connection. Both Angelus and unsouled John were fully capable of knowing the difference between good and evil on an intellectual level. (Just like unsouled Spike intellectually knew that "sampling from disaster victims" was a bad thing in Triangle, the BtVS episode with Olaf the troll.) It's the soul which gives the emotional connection. John being an evil person, enjoys the emotional discord the soul (or "moral compass") creates when he does evil deeds; Angel, being basically a good person, does not. |
