My god!! First off, Poly, great lines...
...but frigg me sideways from Sunday, great colours in a TF book for the first time since LSOTW!
Oh look, it's Prips! Go figure! Wonderful stuff peeps, can't wait to read this...
(And when Prips is done, let Jo and Josh have a go again, eh?!) _________________ *All my nonsense tapped out here is okay to print*

I've been off the boards for a long while with the arrival of my new son Oliver, so I apologize for that, but popped on today to see how you guys were reacting to the movie books.
Sector 7 was something different, so in some ways these are John's first books that are easy to compare to the previous movie universe books. Believe me, he's done more research than I thought possible. He likes the material and he respects the continuity and the fans. Really a top notch guy. So I hope you'll continue to see the effort he's putting in on these books.
Andrew and Priscilla have absolutely blown us away with their work on this series. Andrew took some art steroids, it seems. They may be banned from art studios across North America, but I can't argue with the results.
I'm glad to see the positive reaction here.
Oh, one minor point about Shockwave's design being different from in the movie: keep reading. There is a reason.

Thanks, man! And trust me, John is completely aware of what came before and there are three whole more issues for story to unfold in. |
I agree in saying the art was gorgeous. Already went and complimented Priscilla on Twitter, so it's only fair I do the same to you.
My only anal continuity nitpicks artwise were that Megatron has his battlemask head and red eyes, but that's insanely minor. To an anal degree. So I can ignore it.
It's amazing how your art's improved since Defiance. That was also a nice book, but this one's even nicer. |
Thanks again. Hmmmm.... about Megatron's mask, I recall there being some inconsistency with Megatron's mask, due to differences in reference art available and whatnot but it was ended up decided during Defiance to end up drawing it one way so it wasn't confusing. Anyhow, by the time Defiance ended he was pretty much always being drawn in that series with the battle mask mode, and that was how Don drew him all the way through issue 3 so I basically just continued drawing him that way through this series.
I was also afraid that Megatron having two different heads depending on the scene might be confusing to less familiar readers.
Edit: Oh, and thanks for the boost, Andy. No steroid-related pun intended. Congrats again on the new baby! _________________ Andrew Griffith

That's fair. I just remember him in Defiance having the non-battlemask head until The Fallen imbdues him with power. _________________

yeah, I think he was "wearing" his normal mask in the beginning but with Dan doing most of the pages, and me doing a few, and with john inking some and then Don doing #3 different people were drawing him different ways and I think by the time 4 came around he was being drawn with his battle mask. I'd have to go back and look and it's been a while but I remember there being some discussion about that and a settling of sorts on the battle mask. _________________ Andrew Griffith

Yes yes, okay... lol I got carried away with Wreckers love. That said, Ironhide looked pretty but for me went nowhere particularly storywise and Drift was a good looking enough series, but as much as I like Milne's lines, they're not as clean and shiny as Casey, Guido or even Poly based on this latest evidence and so this just muddies things slightly for me...
Maybe I should have said this looks like the most all-round polished TF book since LSOTW then... _________________ *All my nonsense tapped out here is okay to print*

Well, on Wreckers it was mostly the inks that held everything together.

 | Given I have a copy of one of Nick's pencilled pages, I'd have to agree...
