Welcome to the Godzilla section of the IDW message boards. Here's just a fun little question and answer piece to get to know you a bit. We love our favorite monster, but it's great to see how different our opinions can be at times. When you're done, feel free to tell us anything else we should know about you. Thanks!

Here's mine:

1.) Who is your second favorite character from the Godzilla universe?
ANGUIRUS!

2.) What was the first Godzilla movie you saw?
Can't remember, but I think GODZILLA vs. GIGAN.

3.) What is your favorite Godzilla movie?
DESTROY ALL MONSTERS!

4.) What is your favorite Godzilla collectible that you own?
Tough, but probably my piece of King Ghidorah costume from GMK. It's only a scale, though.

5.) How do you prefer your Godzilla films, subtitled or dubbed?
Subtitled. Absolutely. But Godzilla's Revenge has the coolest line ("How do you like that, weirdo?") when dubbed. And let's not forget the "banana oil" from Godzilla Raids Again.

6.) What monster are you most excited to see in the IDW comics?
Mothra. I think people are going to be very happy with this character.

7.) What is your favorite non-monster character (or alien race) in the Godzilla films?
No one in particular, but if you could make Dr. Serizawa an Xilian about the size of the Peanuts (twin fairies in Mothra), that would about cover it.

8.) What was the last Godzilla item you bought?
Revoltech Mothra. I'm a bit behind, I know.

9.) What is your favorite non-Godzilla monster?
King Kong. The second-greatest monster ever created.

10.) Finally, friend or foe, what would your "dream crossover" for Godzilla be?
Teaming up with Ultraman and they both rid their universes of evil.

11.) Anything else we should know about you?
I'm currently, and will be for a long time, on Cloud 9.

1.) Who is your second favorite character from the Godzilla universe?

The Gigan. (It sounds cooler with "The" on the front, no?)

2.) What was the first Godzilla movie you saw?

The Return Of Godzilla (1984, Raymond Burr version)

3.) What is your favorite Godzilla movie?

I couldn't decide definitively. It would be either Godzilla Vs Gigan, Terror Of MechaGodzilla, or Godzilla Vs King Ghidorah.

4.) What is your favorite Godzilla collectible that you own?

I'm just happy that I own as much as I do. But I guess my Bandai Biollante is something of a rarety.

5.) How do you prefer your Godzilla films, subtitled or dubbed?

For the Showa period, I think that dubs add to the daftness of some of the entries and I quite like that. For the original film and the Heisei and Millenium Periods, subs all the way.

6.) What monster are you most excited to see in the IDW comics?

Aside from Godzilla? Man, I'm just so happy we're getting them at all... But I guess Anguirus or The Gigan.

7.) What is your favorite non-monster character (or alien race) in the Godzilla films?

Miki Saegusa, the teenage empath who develops a telepathic connection with Godzilla during the Heisei period.

8.) What was the last Godzilla item you bought?

The fandom is not well supported in the UK. I believe the last thing I bought would have been the Bandai figurine of the original version of Baragon, but that was probably well over a year ago by now.

9.) What is your favorite non-Godzilla monster?

Another toughy. I guess I'll go with Gamera, although I do find him to be incredibly cheap in terms of just happening to develop a new ultimate power every time he's losing (I only really know the trilogy from the 90's).

10.) Finally, friend or foe, what would your "dream crossover" for Godzilla be?

An alternate reality Godzilla Vs The TransFormers. Let's put Trypticon and Metroplex in their places! Wink

Gojira himself, actually. Who's number one? Well, that's be telling...

Godzilla Vs. Gigan. Maybe. Or what my bro sez.

Do I hafta pick one? Ah.... Vs. Gigan, Terror of MechaGodzilla or 90's Vs. Mothra. You choose.

4.) What is your favorite Godzilla collectible that you own?
A metal Kiryu. He's got gunz, yeah... About the only collectable I own, to be honest.

5.) How do you prefer your Godzilla films, subtitled or dubbed?
Subbed nowadays, tbh. Dubbed for the old showa ones.

6.) What monster are you most excited to see in the IDW comics?
Titanosaurus. He's Kewl.

7.) What is your favorite non-monster character (or alien race) in the Godzilla films?
Ichinose, or Steven Martin.

8.) What was the last Godzilla item you bought?
Final Wars on DVD

Ah... the Alien.

Hercules. Again.

I snore. Godzilla-wise, I've not seen all the films yet, and I quite like Zilla as a monster.

Mothra Larva form, I remember as a kid I used to hold mouthful of water and spew it out in a stream pretending that I was the Larva spinning the silk on some unfortunate monsters.

2.) What was the first Godzilla movie you saw?

Can't say exactly, but I vividly remember I was standing in front of the theater starring at Godzilla vs. Megalon poster and I wouldn't leave when my parents called, needless to say, I was in a pretty big trouble in the end of the day.
Very few Godzilla movies made it into Taiwanese theaters as far as I could remember, but you could always find them in the pirated video rental stores.

3.) What is your favorite Godzilla movie?

Monster Island, I would love to be one of those people that went to the island.

4.) What is your favorite Godzilla collectible that you own?

Couldn't have any when I was a kid.

5.) How do you prefer your Godzilla films, subtitled or dubbed?

Subtitled. That goes with any foreign films, they should be heard in the voices that they were intended.

6.) What monster are you most excited to see in the IDW comics?

I would probably have to say Rodan and Aguirus.

7.) What is your favorite non-monster character (or alien race) in the Godzilla films?

Shojibin, the Mothra fairies. heheh they stands out to me, I don't know why.

8.) What was the last Godzilla item you bought?

If you could the American version, it would have to be a Godzilla car cup holder.
/edit/ I forgot I bought the Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla 2002 DVD.

9.) What is your favorite non-Godzilla monster?

Gamera.

Gamera or Ultraman

Okay - I'm not a Godzilla fan - but keeping an eye on these threads has pushed me to fill in the Q & A for the hell of it - so you can all point and laugh at what a noob I am!

1.) Who is your second favorite character from the Godzilla universe?
That Japanese actor who was in almost EVERY SINGLE ONE of the movies I saw when the UK's Channel 4 screened a season of Godzilla movies. I swear he played a different character each time!

2.) What was the first Godzilla movie you saw?
Yee-ikes... I don't think I can remember the titles of any of them. I think Mothra was in it, though...

3.) What is your favorite Godzilla movie?
Again, not sure of the title, but I think it was clled 'Wrath of Godzilla' or something - all I remember is, Godzilla stomped all over Hollywood in it, breathing fire everywhere. It was a solid chunk of carnage.

4.) What is your favorite Godzilla collectible that you own?
I don't own anything! Except for an issue of the Dark Horse Classic Godzilla series which I bought to use for pose reference.

5.) How do you prefer your Godzilla films, subtitled or dubbed?
I need dubs, dammit! They add so much comedy to a foreign language feature. I watch a lot of 1980s era anime, and the dubs are hilariously awful sometimes.

6.) What monster are you most excited to see in the IDW comics?
Mecha-Godzilla all the way! We don't have new Zoids comics, so I guess a giant, stompin' robot Godzilla monster will have to do.

7.) What is your favorite non-monster character (or alien race) in the Godzilla films?
I'm not enough of a fan to name them, but I thought the 'aliens' were always hilarious when they showed up in the old movies - and, what a coincidence - they all looked just like us!!!

8.) What was the last Godzilla item you bought?
That would be the Dark Horse Godzilla comic I mentioned earlier.

9.) What is your favorite non-Godzilla monster?
No brainer. It's the Predator. Amazing design that was unlike anything I'd ever seen on TV or in movies before, and it still looks great today.

10.) Finally, friend or foe, what would your "dream crossover" for Godzilla be?
I HATE CROSSOVERS!!!

11.) Anything else we should know about you?
I can play 'Sweet Child Of Mine' on the mandolin.

Hard to say, the only Godzilla movies I have seen recently have been the more recent ones and haven't liked them much as the ones I grew up with.

14 inch redesigned Gigan.

When I was a kid I watched them dubbed.

All the ones from the 60s and 70s.

The aliens that turned to gorillas, I remember that being really bizarre.

I have no idea, I have seen so many monsters in games and movies, I don't think I can pick one, maybe Anima from Final Fantasy 10, but not really sure.

I am a freelance illustrator that lives in San Diego, but originally from New York. I grew up watching Godzilla, one of my favorite childhood past-times. Along with Godzilla I grew up watching a lot of cartoons and movies related to monsters.

1.) Who is your second favorite character from the Godzilla universe?
Titanosaurus. Always had a love for the strictly tooth-and-claw monsters of the Showa era, and out of all of them Titano has stood above the rest(literally and otherwise). As a kid I even bought a figure of a Hadrosaur figure to act as Titanosaurus to go against my Imperial Godzilla figure.

2.) What was the first Godzilla movie you saw?
The earliest I can remember seeing a Godzilla movie was in 1991. I was watching Godzilla Vs. The Sea Monster with my Dad. Not sure if it was that that sparked my interest in Dinosaurs or if it was the other way around.

3.) What is your favorite Godzilla movie?
Terror of Mecha-Godzilla is my favorite. Godzilla is at the peak of his career as a hero, and in it we get to see him take on two monsters at once, one of which had nearly killed him the previous year. It also features my all-time favorite Godzilla suit.

4.) What is your favorite Godzilla collectible that you own?
For the time being, it's my 1985 6-inch Imperial Godzilla figure that I picked several years ago on eBay trying to regain some lost toys from my childhood.

5.) How do you prefer your Godzilla films, subtitled or dubbed?
I've always preferred dub no matter what I'm watching. Never been a huge fan of panning my eyes away from the center of the screen to read some text.

6.) What monster are you most excited to see in the IDW comics?
Titanosaurus of course.

7.) What is your favorite non-monster character (or alien race) in the Godzilla films?
Douglas Gordon from Godzilla: Final Wars. He's chock full of many memorable lines.

8.) What was the last Godzilla item you bought?
Er, probably the Bandai Creation 6-inch Gigan 2004 figure.

9.) What is your favorite non-Godzilla monster?
Guilala, from The X from Outer Space.

10.) Finally, friend or foe, what would your "dream crossover" for Godzilla be?
A Power Rangers-Godzilla crossover would be pretty awesome. It'd be like those games I'd play as a kid pitting my Dino Megazord up against my Godzilla figure come true.

11.) Anything else we should know about you?
At twenty-three years old, I'm still an avid(and sometimes hardcore depending on the season being discussed) fan of the Power Rangers.

1.) Who is your second favorite character from the Godzilla universe?

Destoroyah. I love me some villains, and you don't get much more evil than Destoroyah. His final form design was awesome.

2.) What was the first Godzilla movie you saw?

Godzilla vs. Megalon. I was really into dinosaurs as a kid, so my parents taped this for me. I nearly wore out the tape, and I was hooked.

3.) What is your favorite Godzilla movie?

Godzilla vs. Destoroyah, I'd say. It had great effects, my favourite villain monster and an amazing score.

4.) What is your favorite Godzilla collectible that you own?

I don't own anything besides the movies.

5.) How do you prefer your Godzilla films, subtitled or dubbed?

Subtitled. I'm currently working on getting the whole collection in such a way.

Destoroyah

The Xiliens are pretty cool. Though the Simeons (sp?) and Captain Gordon are also worthy of mention.

Gamera, especially after watching the Hesei Trilogy.
