I've read this today and really enjoyed it. I need to do a re-read because there's alot to take in, but my first reaction was very positive.

2-10 were the best, Laughing - Amended ! 11 issues in this series might have been a bit much, but I'm going to really miss Angel written by John Byrne !

I needed to re-read this before I could post about it.I was a bit underwhelmed on 1st reading.I had a few problems with some of the plot points, but enjoyed it more on subsequent readings.

-Angel working in an asylum;actually Angel working anywhere. The big joke has always been "How does Angel live without any income", but if he was working at this point then it makes sense it would be in a menial job, him being an Irish immigrant and all.I suppose he must have worked at some stage-he had to pay for clothes and a place to live after all, but it was a hit jarring at first. But he couldn't have sat around moping for a hundred years could he:-)

-Angel is much more chatty here than I would have thought at this time.It has been 20 years since he came to the states, so I suppose he must have gotton a bit more used to living amongst people, but again it was a but jarring on 1st read.

-I liked the idea that Frankenstein was also 'cursed' with being haunted by the ghosts (memories) of the people that had died to give him life-nice parallel to Angel.

-I'm glad that Angel was able to give Frankenstein peace.

It was an enjoyable story, not as good as the 1st part, or Byrne's other Angel work, but a nice coda to the first story. I'm sad that this is the last historical comic from IDW (and maybe ever), but am glad to have what we have.

I read both Frankenstein I and II today (bought them together with Spike #1) and I actually enjoyed the second one more. The story just seemed to have more meat to it. I agree that Angel did seem uncharacteristically sociable.
