Out this week according to my LCS.
It's a rather sombre excitement to my interest here. Nice chap by all accounts, so it feels rather odd deriving interest and entertainment out of a tribute to him.

I agree that it's sad about the circumstances of how this book came to be.But I think the best way to look at this is that it's a celebration of Andy and his character. That's how I feel.I'm looking forward to it.

Just picked up the Angel:Lorne Special by John Bryne. This really was a love letter to both the character Lorne and Andy.Such a beautiful(temporary) exit for the character and gives great reason why Lorne is not a part of the ongoing Angel series now.In a way,Lorne gets a happy ending.Something rare in Whedon land. And it is touched on that Lorne's murder of Lindsey in NFA is still eating at him.

Angel,Groo,Illyria and Cordy the dragon all play big roles in this story but Lorne is the CENTER literally(read the book and you'll get what I mean).

Spike,Gunn and Kate also make cameos at the very end of the story as they deal with their feelings over the final fate of Lorne.Spike even gets a joke that it won't last as a nod to how this sort of thing always gets undone in the verse.

I think the best way to describe this story is that the door is closed on Lorne....... for now.

And considering my feelings on this sort of thing when Lorne returns(because Chris Ryall even says in the editorial in the back of the book that this is not the final appearance of Lorne as he has said online too. That Lorne will be back one day.),it better be for a really good reason because this was such a great finish for the character and I hate the thought of this being taken away.I think the character earned this.

Maybe later tonight,I'll type up Chris Ryall's editorial if I get a chance

There is also a very nice tribute from Mark Lutz in the back of the comic with lots of photos of him with Andy and some great behind the scenes pics of Andy.

This one is really worth a pick up. Smile

Glad to hear Lorne gets a happy ending, for now. But no ending stays happy of ended in the verse. Angel died, came back. Spike died, came back. Buffy died, came back. Cordelia died, came back. Cordy the Dragon died, came back. Wes died, came back. I think the only good guy that ever stayed dead was Jesse. Wink

This sounds great. I will definitely pick it up when I get the chance.

About the Lindsey murder: even I still feel bad whenever I think about it, so I can only imagine what it must have done to poor Lorne. (Yes, I know he's a fictional character...) So I agree it's really good if the tribute shows it has had a lasting effect on Lorne.

Beautiful issue. Really well done. I had tears in my eyes for the last page.Aside from everything its a great story, and a wonderful stand alone which stands on its own merits.

But as a tribute to Andy Hallett...well I dont think they could have done better. I thnk he would have enjoyed it.

Thanks to Ryall,Byrne and Lutz for making this.

Hi, I such a big fan of Lorne, I literally love him.

I was heartbroken when I heard about of Andy, but I feel Lorne goes beyond him as a character.

I live in Argentina, so I do not have acces to the issue.

Could anybody sum it up for me please?.

Also does anybody have the mail of Chris Ryall's editorial, I would like to ask him when he plans to bring back Lorne, cause I'll be counting the days.

Thank you

Extremely touching book, was such a great read and I was tearing up a little as I got to the end of the book.

It's was a great wya to say goodbye and thank you to Lorne and Andy.

The Mark Lutz and Chris Ryall words at the end where very touching aswell.

Hi, red it online.

It was soooo touching, but I have some questions:

1. When Lorne returns, is he going to be healthy again?

2. Did he died, or he just became a sort of hier power like Cordy on season
4?

3. You think Chris Ryall will honor his promise of bringing him back? (cause I'll be counting the days)

4. When do you think he'll be back?

I'll like to hear your opinions.
And we have to stay alert and asking for Lorne to return as soon as posible Wink
Cause I allready miss him Embarassed

Ryall keeps his word, as long as nothing gets in the way (ie a command from on high - the owners of the franchise dictating something) so if he says Lorne will be back, Lorne will be back.

Ok, I understand, I live in a country were people usually lies just get out the hook. But I think there in USA things are diferent and people actully keep they're words (one of the many reasons you're first world, and less and third) Wink

But I don't think anybody on the high may have any reason for not wanted Lorne back, I mean, why would they?.

And when you think he'll be back (less than a year or more?)
And you think he's going to be live and healthy again?
Just want your opinion.

Thank you so much Smile

This was just so wonderful. Perfect characterization from John Byrne and a fitting tribute for Lorne and Andy. I felt quite emotional reading it.

After reading everybody's reactions, I can't wait to go to my comic shop and get this book. Too bad I won't have the chance before next week at the earliest.
