These aren't uncommon, as in recent years, Wizard has skimped on fact checking and even grammar and spell checking it seems, but a recent article on Doctor Who (the show, not the comics, which weren't even mentioned), they stated that while David Tennant's more recognizable roles was in Harry Potter, Russell T. Davies recognizable work was on "The L Word."
Um... no. That'd be "Queer As Folk," but hey, who has Google nowadays?
And they also stated that as first Doctor, William Hartnell was the first with the TARDIS and everything else -- including the sonic screwdriver.
Once again, uh-uh. I'm not familiar with him using one in spin-off media, and maybe he did, but every other source I found says that Troughton was the first to use it in "Fury From the Deep."
Okay, I feel better, now. End of geeky rant.
I'd write all this to Wizard, but they don't seem to print letters anymore. _________________

One of the novels mentions that he has one. I don't remember which it was. _________________ Everything I say is OK To Print, Even the Bad Stuff.

Venusian Lullaby.
Someone tracking his movements aboard an alien ships notes that he uses a "sonic device" to override a door. _________________ Ohh 'Eck! |

Nevertheless, Wizard was focusing squarely on the show. Other than the quotes they get (first hand or not, I can't tell) from Davies and Tennant, it's apparent through the rest of the article that they're not really familiar with the show and are just doing an article to seem hip and "in the know."
And the illustration -- respectable, no doubt, but most of the likenesses are way off, and Troughton is the same height as Pertwee. Oy. _________________

| Wizard is basically a collection of press releases these days. I haven't picked up an issue in ages. Not too surprised by this. Sad to see what a great mag has become. |
