a balence of Cartoon, Comic, and tech spec, I think IDW has a pretty good handle on it.
I also feel they leave charecters room to grow....and not grow stale, from repetition!
Why wouldn't Prowl, have an emotional moment.... especially in their current state. He isn't Shockwave.
Living on an alien world, you just tried to defend, only to be hunted.
Theres a time when even a man, who has seen enough death, will decide enough is enough, and act out of charecter and do what no one expects!
Just like in Batman The Dark Knight, the Big cold hard criminal throws the remote out the window of the boat and leaves fate in the hands of the so called innocent.
I understood your post, but their are others who want charecters to be what they knew...cant except any change. I find it a positive thing when a charecter you think you know, surprises you every now and then. _________________ Everything I post is ok to print, use, copy, use for inspiration, promote world peace, change lives, etc...and so on and so on.

That's great news! Congrats on that achievment, but how high was the print run? Hopefully they do fly off the shelves and generate the need for a 2nd printing. |
I'm actually hoping the opposite. We need change. |
You seem to post here just to try and irritate people. There are ways to make your opinion known without coming across as combative. I don't necessarily disagree with a lot of what you say, I just don't like the way you say it. I don't care for Nick Roche's work either, or that of E.J. Infact, most of the stuff that this board says is awesome I think is terrible. The difference is that I don't go saying it like I'm looking for a fight. No. I don't like Nick's artwork, his overly cartoony style makes me want to run away screaming and like you, I don't understand this boards fascination with him, same with E.J, his action scenes need work in my opinion but I don't go around posting like these things to get on people's nerves like you seem to do. State your opinion, tell us why you feel that way but don't go out of your way to try and goad people in to a fight. _________________ O.K to print 'n' stuff.

Funny thing is, that is EXACTLY what this ongoing series is about. You're calling for "Throwback" more than "new." You'll get a bit of both, but we're delving into some new ideas here. That said, you've made it clear you're not buying the book, so wait around. See if you hear good things. Visit other sites and forums if you think this one is biased. Then buy the trade when it comes out.
Since the first issue has now officially sold out, it looks like we're here for a little while at least.
Anyway, thanks for the well-wishes earlier and I hope you're able to find another comic that brings you what you want. If you choose to give the book a try, I'd love to hear your thoughts on it. _________________ "I've got better things to do tonight than die." --Springer |

| overall, i thought the issue was a decent start. i felt the attack on the compound could have been expanded, though. i wish they had done just a bit more with ironhide other than him jumping in front of the shot. some moment between him and hot rod or him and prime would've been nice to really show how devastated prime became or having it be the pivotal moment for hot rod to take up leadership once prime left |

Trying to pick fights? I don't see my post doing that. Not at all. In fact that mod named Daniel is the what who's trying to pick a fight by calling me a name. |

I don't understand the need to kill Ironhide. And as far as Reboots go, have you read the new Nova series by Marvel? It's one of the best books out there and is almost universally liked. Nick and some of the other writers should look at that book and see how well reboots are done. The characters are the same but the new things that are done to them don't make them unrecognizable. That's the level I'd love to see TF comics reach. But it hasn't happened. DW was close before they went under. |

Like I said, I don't really disagree with a lot of what you say, I just don't like how you say it. Did you really have to say that IDW shouldn't have the license? How does a comment like that add to a civil discussion? It doesn't. It seems like your looking for attention. Does saying Dreamwave was better going to bring Dreamwave back to continue the license? No. I don't really think people on here would have a problem with you saying you don't like Nick's work or Simon's, the negative comments you receive are due to the fact that you keep harping the same points with no real reasoning. I gave my reasoning for not liking Nick and EJ's work, it's not for me but I hardly expect all that much criticism because I gave my reasons, you just seem to want to insult and that's not good. _________________ O.K to print 'n' stuff.

Yup you figured me out. Sorry that I don't fall along and go with the crowd because everyone else likes it. I'm an individual. You want to read a real good reboot, go read Nova. That's how you reboot a series w/out butchering characters and still adding new stuff. |

It's not your opinions on the reboot people have a problem with, it's how you say it. In case you don't know, you come across as negative, combative and attention seeking. It's ok to not like an artists work but it's not ok to go around and insult IDW by saying they suck and shouldn't have the license.

I wasn't going to mention this before, but it's too funny not to. All this talk about how great Nova's reboot is compared to this one, which I believe you said you haven't read yet and is only one issue out so far anyway, is really cracking me up. The reason it's cracking me up is...
...wait for it...
...I'm the editor at Marvel that brought Nova back. ANNIHILATION--that was me. That was my idea and I'm the editor that did the whole darn thing. I got Nova's new series approved and started and completely rebooted that character (Obviously, I had much help from Dan and Andy and Keith writing those books, so I'm not taking full credit here, just saying, my idea. my idea to use Nova and more or less what to do with the character to bring him back).
So, yeah, I read it. If you liked what I was able to do with a good team over there, maybe give this a chance and read it for a while. It took 26 issues of ANNIHILATION comics to get Nova into a good place for a new ongoing. We've done 1. There's more work to be done, but it'll get there. These things take time.
All right, that was just too funny not to mention.
I'm out for the night. Talk with you all later. _________________ "I've got better things to do tonight than die." --Springer |

Yeah, cuz if these boards are about anything, it's herd-ism. Everyone thinks exactly the same around here. Thank the lord we have you to show us the way now. No, please, go on showing up only to insult good people who put their all into these books without the slightest bit of reasonable, thought-out criticisms or points of view to contribute to any conversation. I see by your plea of individuality that you're surely worthy of the utmost respect merely by default. My bad. |

I'm actually hoping the opposite. We need change. |
Sometimes, a person comes along that just makes your day. Sometimes, a stranger pays your parking meter for you and keeps you from getting a ticket. Sometimes, your best friend calls you when you're having a really bad day. And sometimes, some anonymous punkass on the internet is a big enough boor that you can proudly square your shoulders, stand up straight, and declare to the world, "at least I'm not that guy!"
AutobotWarrior, you are that guy.
It's a rare event that someone walks into another person's place of business, complains loudly about nonspecific things about which he steadfastly refuses to elaborate, and is still treated well by the proprietor. It is even rarer indeed that said proprietor would patiently allow that person to stay in the shop while he noisily maligned not just the store's products, but tacitly insulted the character of its employees. It's all but unheard of for this to go on in the real world, but the comforting cloak of anonymity that the internet provides seems to allow such behavior to flourish.
You've never met any of the folks at IDW by your own admission, but here you sit, holding court over their dedication to this franchise and their work ethic. People that have and do work at IDW have point-blank shot down your misguided conclusions about whether or not folks like Nick Roche[/i] or [b]Simon Furman "care" about Transformers. But instead of taking your licks and moving on--like an adult--you persist in ham-handedly throwing together a one- or two-sentence derision and childishly soldier on.
Now, I've been an ardent critic of some of IDW's Transformers books my own self. I know for a fact that some around here were likely getting rather weary of my longwinded critiques of All Hail Megatron. But I kept my criticism polite, informed, focused, and detailed. If I disliked something, I explained at length why I disliked it. Sometimes, I would offer an opinion about what I thought should've been done instead.
You, in stark contrast, are harping pointlessly about a book that you yourself openly admit to not having purchased. Maybe--just maybe--we can afford you the benefit of the doubt and assume that you read it in a comic book shop between pilates and your orthodontist's appointment or something. But even that completely fails to allow for any sort of detailed examination of the work. There is absolutely no depth to your diatribes, nor would we expect there to be, since you admit (and it is patently obvious) that you never bought the thing that you're maligning.
It's fine to dislike something. It's fine to opt out of buying a product that you don't think you'll enjoy. There's nothing wrong with either of those things. But to insult the character of said product's creators, contribute nothing but terse and insipid bile to a discussion that's supposed to be a review and reaction conversation, and then--to top it all off--passive-aggressively attack everyone that's behaving civilly in that discussion is unacceptable. Grossly uncalled-for and unacceptable.
You can't rationally explain your "criticisms" or even bring yourself to respond to those that request that you do. Don't worry; we 'get it,' man. You don't like IDW's Transformers comics. We have no real idea as to why, but that failure is yours, not ours. You obviously have nothing to actually contribute, so I'm going to go ahead and just respectfully request that you stop. Start up a haters' thread or something. Write angry poetry. Vent to your counselor or something. I don't care. Just stop wasting bandwidth by further illustrating your complete inability to carry on a civil discourse with thoughtful contributions.
Thanks. _________________ I hereby allow the above post to be printed.
