Got it out here in SoCal...
For those of you who did indeed get it, I'm curious, which cover did you choose? Or, if you got both, which one you preferred? I was torn as neither really jumped out at me. Which was odd as usually one or the other makes the choice clear. I went with the Scarlett cover, but I cannot really say why. Maybe because I thought the framing of the Chaykin cover left too much space above the subject.
Or I just liked the boobs...

i always get the atkins cover over the chaykin one.
i hear that chaykin is a legend in the industry... but alas, i just can't get into his style. he tends to add a good 40 to 50 pounds to every character he draws... male or female.
and it's not just that i like more "mainstream" comic artwork like atkins (who is great, btw), because i loved the artwork in the cobra minis and in the first origins series.
i wish i liked chaykin's covers more, too, because the premise behind all of his work seems to be really spot on... just executed a bit strangely. for example, the cover with the baroness's boot on destro's head could have been one of my all-time favorites, but it just came out kind... strange. same with the chaykin cover for #11. that would have been really cool, i think.
anyways, i don't want to sound like i'm disparaging an artist's work or anything like that... i'm sure that there are a ton of fans out there who love his stuff. it's just not my cup o pizza. |

This issue has all over it. I can't wait to get my hands on it. I like a mystery. _________________ Everything you just read was a complete waste of time.

There was a shipping problem. This is from Chris Ryall's blog
Note: Diamond had a shipping problem from one of their distribution centers, so it's possible that some shops won't see these comics until the week of November 11. |

I didn't get it (I'm in Jersey near Philly)... rats!
As far as the cover, if I get a choice (my comic book guy usually pulls one out and puts it in my bag for me), I'd hands down pick the Atkins cover. I never liked Chaykin... but then again, I'm the one who feels every comic should still be drawin in Bronze age style. *shrugs* _________________ Although emulsion may be mightier than the sword, it doesn't hurt to have a Tommy Gun handy. |

I've been buying the Chaykin covers. In general, I've liked them a lot, particularly on the Cobra mini. This latest one doesn't do anything for me, though. A little too flat and cliche and he's falling back on the "flat wall for a background" thing a little too often lately.
The Atkins cover has a bit of action to it and a nice camera angle. |

i like adkin's character designs the best. he seems to be the only one that cares about the history of joe and their looks. _________________ more toy accurate figures pictured and utilized in the idw- verse PLEASE!!! makes me want buy more figures and that's a good thing. original back log has a lot to offer. |
