John Byrne's newest 4-issue mini, showcasing a pre-TMP Dr. McCoy, is set to begin March 2010.

Check out the preview page from Byrne Robotics

Ryall's blog has the announcement as well.
Sadly, unlike the friendly tones of Bryne's forum, most people have demonstrated a lack of literacy skills and think that Byrne is drawning McCoy with Byrne's own face (which he expected) and have slagged him off for tracing pictures of the Shat.

I read about that as well. Byrne's art for this upcoming series looks great, in my view. And I've enjoyed his work on his past "Romulans" books. People just love to complain on the Internet.

To be honest, I didn't even know that was supposed to be Kirk until I saw it mentioned on the forum. I think it has to do with the weird way Byrne draws mouths. The McCoy likeness is pretty good and recognizable at a glance so, considering he's the primary character, that's a plus.
